Common Area Power
Are you paying too much for your common area electricity? LPE can ensure that you are paying the lowest possible rates for your common area whether it be within an embedded network or under an LPE Business Account.
An LPE Business Account has lower rates and attracts greater discounts when moving onto a fixed term contract compared to residential accounts. Whether or not your sites common area electricity should be on a business or residential account depends on a number of factors such as where you site is located, your network provider, your annual consumption and whether your site is purely residential or multi-use with both residential and commercial lots. LPE has many electricity products suited for all types of strata communities.
LPE can offer regulated electricity tariffs for small business sites that consume more than 100 megawatt hours per annum (100,000 kWh per annum) through an LPE Business Account. By moving to a fixed price contract, over a 2 or 3 year term, the common area is able to lock in substantial savings for the body corporate. Even if the common area is under the 100 megawatt consumption threshold to achieve lower network charges through an LPE Business Account, by installing an LPE embedded network, the entire site’s consumption including the common area is used to access lower electricity rates.
Additionally, under an LPE Business Account, the time of use tariff cost of electricity changes depending on the time of day and week. There is typically a peak period (during the day, particularly afternoons) at the highest rate and an off-peak period (overnight and on weekends) which has the lowest rate. The electricity consumption of many community common areas is typically constant regardless of the time of day or day of week except for maybe some lighting at night. Under this energy consumption profile, significant savings may be achieved by moving to an LPE Business Account.
